Based on the 1 hour demo:

Summary is from the BFG-site. I don't care much for the storylines. They aren't really important to me and mostly the same anyway. goodbye

A notorious figure called the “Sea Ripper” has been sinking ships off the coast of the British West Indies, and the Royal Navy has called you in to investigate the case. To make matters more interesting, you may have just boarded the Sea Ripper’s very next target! Now you must track down the truth behind this mysterious figure – is he man or myth? Finding out might make your career… or send you to the bottom of the sea.

This is the newest Eipix game. Graphics and Voiceovers are good as usual.

The game has 6 chapters + bonus chapter in the CE.

There are the usual 4 levels: Casual, hard, advanced and custom. You can set the hint and skip time down to 10 seconds in Custom mode.

HOS are slightly interactive. There are mostly lists, some have silhouettes and most have a riddle in the end. They are quite cluttered but still easy.

Minigames are sliding tiles, jigsaws, maze puzzles... all on the easy side. I really liked the 3-dimensional maze puzzle because it was something new and quite fun.

The CE contains 44 collectible globes, Achievements, collectible souvenirs (I didn't find one but I wasn't really looking  Very Happy), Strategy guide, replayable puzzles and HOS, Souvenir room, music ...

On the plus side, there weren't many cutscenes to interrupt the gameplay, so you are actually playing a game and not watching a movie. Dialogs were short and skipable.
But the game didn't grab me at all. All you do is run around back and forth to find things to put in boxes, walls, doors ... to be able to go on. I didn't even finish my one hour (I have 12 minutes left). There was nothing that made me want to go on. I don't even remember if there was any music. If there was, at least it wasn't annoying Very Happy .
After this almost hour, I was in the middle of chapter 3 (14th page in the SG from 33 pages) which makes me question the length of the game. It seams like there aren't even three hours playtime for the main game.

When the first Eipix games came out I absolutely loved them. They were beautifully done, the puzzles were different and you even had to think for yourself sometimes. They had a lot of technical problems in the beginning but with time the glitches are gone (I at least haven't had any problems with their games for a long time now) which shows that they listen to the complains and do their best to solve the problems.

The games are still beautiful but aside from the graphics they all have the bin-there-done-that-feel to them. One new puzzle in the demo isn't enough for me to purchase a game.

I just wish, that instead of throwing out a new game every few days, they would take more time to make the games more challenging and different from each other. They do come up with new puzzles every time, so I'm sure they could do it.

In summary, this game is not for me. I like to play an easy game every now and then but this was not only way too easy but downright boring Sleep . I'm have to borrow steve-sans coffee cup because that's what I need to wake up after this demo  coffee2 .

I give it 2 of five stars, simply because of the graphics and voiceovers and the puzzle maze.

As always, this is just my opinion. Yours might be totally different but at least try it before buying.

Happy gaming
